what's new in this release for lassi and lassi-spear?

A number of improvements were made to the way in which some data elements are displayed in LASSI with this release.

Crown Land and Crown Allotment

Previously, LASSI displayed Crown Land and Crown Allotments together in a single layer named “Crown Allotment”, leading to ambiguity in the information being displayed and difficulty in identifying/differentiating between the two.

With this release of LASSI, this issue has been rectified by splitting the "Crown Allotment" layer into two separate layers. These two layers are:

  • Crown Allotment - To display all Crown Allotment land, and
  • Crown Land - To display all Crown Land
You can view and control the visibility of these two layers from the "Build Map" tab and refer the "Legend Tab" to see how the two layers will be displayed on the map.

Planning Zone Information

With this release, LASSI has added planning zone information to the "Identify Property" tab. When a property/parcel is identified using the "Identify Property" function, any planning zones that affect or overlap the identified parcel/property will be displayed in the "Lot/Plan" section of the "Identify Property" tab.

Area of a Parcel/Property

Now you can see the approximate area of a parcel/property easily in LASSI. When a parcel or a property is identified with the "Identify Property" function, the approximate area of the identified parcel/property will be displayed in the "Properties" section of the "Identify Property" tab.

Direct Link to Property Information

Currently, when "Lot on Plan" or "SPI" search is performed, and an "Identify Property" function is performed, there is often a lengthy list of results displayed. Today, results are displayed in the “Identify Property” tab as a series of unsearchable, paginated pages that then need to be manually navigated/browsed through to locate a specific detail.

However, with this change, when a "Lot on Plan" or "SPI" search is performed, a new "Property Information" link will be generated against each search result. Clicking this link will directly display parcel specific information in a pop-up window. If the parcel has multiple properties, the results will be sorted based on the "Lot Number".
